Unfortunately, I didn't see them until the Van Hagar incarnation, at The Forum (the Lakers old house) in LA (during the 5150 tour, IIRC)

ETA: ^^^^^ I was actually replying to BeerGeek (who saw them twice in Philly), and BeerGeek was replying to Sluggo, but...somehow....BeerGeek's part got lost.

I'm not saying I've never made this post before, LOL. My memory is not what it used to be, but here are two songs from Eric Clapton and Phil Collins, both from 1989. The intro to "Rain" pokes a little fun at the way Phil became the singer for Genesis and later how he started to act. ("He used to be the drummer in a really good band." LOL)

If so, were you a punk rocker? Heavy metal? Hair band type? Or pop? Or did you venture in a mix of them?
What are some of your favorite songs from back then?

One of my faves was the band Journey......
"Don't stop believin'...." and "I'm forever yours.....faithfully".

I remember watching a show on the weekends called Night Tracks. Anybody remember this show? It was pre-MTV era.

I was into all sorts of music, Blondie, Benatar, B52's, Nervus Rex, an album I got from the NJ board walk which is more punk rock, Pretenders, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses

A cover of a Chuck Berry classic. Incoherent singing from a band with a cool name that ended in 1980.

After she and Doug Fleger broke up, Sharona Alperin became a realtor...and I heard that Doug Fleger later let her (I guess it was okay with Berton as well) use "My Sharona" on her website.

I saw them as one of the opening acts for The Police at a concert during their Sychronicity tour in 1983.

The concert was at the the Hollywood Park Race Track (horses, not autos).

The NFL affiliated SoFi Stadium (home to the Rams and the Chargers) is there now.

The concert featured The Police, Berlin, The Fixx, and the Thompson Twins.

The stage was inside the inside rail, facing the grandstand. It was 'festival seating'.

IIRC, the attendance figure was about 100k (and they'd never held a concert before at that site), and one person died (pinned against the inside rail), but it was one of the best concerts I've ever attended.
