I was born in 79, so I grew up in the 80s but I was just a kid. Since my parents only listened to "oldies" back then (mostly 50s and 60s) that's mostly what I listened to. But years later, I began to learn more about the music from my childhood and learned to appreciate it a lot more. I still don't know a whole lot about 80s music other than the more popular stuff, but I do enjoy hearing some of it now and then. For whatever reason, right now I'm thinking of The Outfield:
