SAVE ME A DREAM by Skitch Henderson v-Ray Kellogg 1946 - YouTube
This is a song retrieved from a childhood memory, a very faint one. Yet, when I heard it, it took me back to listening to this with my younger sister, watching the beautiful picture record rotate on the player. I wasn't even certain of the title, but I kept looking. Thank goodness for this YouTube poster=} However, I am now addicted to this lovely melody and the lyrical lyrics. *giggle*
AND SO TO BED by Skitch Henderson v-Eileen Wilson 1946 - YouTube
Samuel Pepys of the somewhat infamous diaries often signed off with "And so to bed", which I suppose this references. Thanks to Mr. Pepys, we know every little detail of ordinary life in his times, at least for one of his social standing.
Are you ready for this?! From 1946~long, long, long before "Pulp Fiction" was dreamed of, before the Black Eyed Peas or even Fifties/Sixties rockers~there was a somewhat more laidback "Misirlou"!
