My concern with Wild Wing would be traffic. The primary (and maybe the only) entrance/exit is on 501 in one of the most congested areas of the highway. On weekends in the summer it would be very difficult to get anywhere quickly. Even during the off season, that area of the highway backs up during the morning and evening commutes. Of course, coming from CT you might not consider the traffic that bad but once you settle in here, it will gradually come to be an irritant.
This house fits within your budget and is in a gated community in an area of good schools. The community is not as upscale as Wild Wing but has a community pool and only has 49 houses.

You may also want to consider Arrowhead Grande which is also gated but you may have trouble finding something in your price range. There are still houses being built there.

The non-gated part of Arrowhead also is a nice place to live with houses in your price range.
My other piece of advice is to consider renting for the first year to be sure that you like Myrtle Beach and the area in which you rent. It also gives you time to fully explore the area to determine where you would spend most of your time with activities, etc.
