Having read past posts about how horrible things get in the Naples area during the winter season when all the snow birds return and all the tourist are in state, I was wondering if now is as bad as it gets. Because, so far, it does not seem that bad to me (traffic or crowds).

My neighbor, who lives here full time, was complaining last week about the traffic and all the influx of people. I told her I did not think it was bad at all. Where I come from in NJ it is as bad or worse all year round.....

The peak of Spring Season occurs on the 3rd week of March. It stays busy through Easter.

It will start getting busy again when "Cruise Season" is over usually about the end of Jan.

Beth

PS The trick is not to drive on 41, that's where most of the tourists are.

Yes, I have already learned to use Goodlet-Frank to drive as far south as possible instead of Tamiami.

Speaking of south...... My camera club meeting is tomorrow at the Naples Airport. I know there are several interesting looking restruants on Airport Road south (south of Vanderbilt Beach). I was thinking of treating myself to dinner before the 7 pm meeting. Any suggestions?

I don't eat over there very often but Spanky's has always been good.

Alice Sweetwaters is a good local place, just south of Davis Blvd. on Airport Rd South, so not too far from the airport.

Those were the two places (Spanky's and Alice Sweetwaters) that came up with the best reviews. They are both on my list..... However I picked up a roasted whole chicken at Costco along with potato salad. Keeping it simple....... Eating out alone still does not appeal to me......
