Looking to get an idea of the cost per month of a pool service in Naples. Thanks!

We use Plaster's. $70/month includes chemicals. They come once a week and alternate which days they clean the filter or vacuum (each happens once a month).

Never had a problem, pool always looks great.

Have used Plasters since moving to Naples 3 years ago. Very satisfied with both their weekly maintenance and repair service. Honest and fairly priced.

I spoke to the pool company that most people use in the community and are happy with. They charge $100 per month. This includes weekly chemicals and weekly vacuuming/skimming. Also cleaning the filter once a month.

Is this higher than $70 because if the weekly vacuuming? This company has been servicing the pool for over 5 years. When we looked at the house I noticed that the pool was immaculate and the water crystal clear. We had a pool and maintained it ourselves before we sold, so we are familiar with pool maintenance.

So, what do you think?

For $30 a month do you want to take a chance? Yes, the weekly vacuuming adds more. If cost is an issue buy a pool robot which will save over the long run (2+ years) and allows you to do more cleaning in-between services.

The benefit of having a company that the majority of people use is that you generally get consistent predictable service and if it goes bad your neighbors will also be aware of it.

If you have a cage over your pool, it's not necessary to vacuum once a week IMO. A net can get any minor stuff that may sneak in and float on top or even sink to the bottom. Make sure you have good door sweeps under your doors, that made a big difference for us. Our guys use a big brush and scrub down the sides and bottom of the pool every week to keep stuff off the finish.

$100 bucks a month sounds $30/month too high to me, overkill.

Markjames and Movin1:

Thanks for the advice! We've decided to go with the pool guy that has serviced the pool for the past few years. $30 more is just one less visit to Cracker Barrel. LOL

We are used to maintaining our own pool for many years before we retired. It's tough to let the control go. Not so much a money issue.

With our new home we'll have landscaping and a pool boy! My dream has come true. Ha Ha

The cage cuts down on pine needles and such, but the millipedes and little frogs always seem to find their way in anyway...

I love my pool robot because it also scoops up sand and scrubs the tile.

We're going to start with the pool service. The home we sold on Long Island had a large pool that I maintained, so I'm very familiar with pools. We may end up cancelling the pool service here and getting the robot in the future.

What pool robot do you have and would you recommend it? Thanks!
