Basically I'm just asking what are your reasons for picking Naples? What made you decide to move to Naples?

Mine are low crime, almost tropical climate, great shopping and restaurants, close enough to Miami ( I was born and raised in Miamah), smaller and slower......we're looking Golden Gate Estates (east rural Naples) quieter....can still go to town and walk around if we want....great fishing!

A job 30 years ago. I stayed after changing jobs because I liked it here.

Sadly, most of what I liked best about living here is long gone. Now it's pretty much just inertia keeping me here....

Yup....

The same thing is happening here, unfortunately.

That or the slow in-season traffic

The oldies going to pay golf in the morning when most people are going to work is a traffic obstacle. They drive so slow and they are in no hurry. Lots of snowbirds there too. Large mosquitos in Golden Gate!

It's not just the "oldies" nowadays.

White sand beaches, fantastic fishing, good schools, and a business that allowed us to work 6 months and play 6 months.

People don't realize that in the past, many businesses closed for the Summer especially in September.

No State income tax (moving from Illinois), better weather, very nice people on our visits, no snow, no snow blower, no shovel, options to fly from Ft. Meyers to numerous locations in the U.S., beach time is an option everyday, and lose my winter weight

We seriously considered the Naples area. It does have a lot of restaurants and warm weather, but we found the area did not have a lot of character (really could be anywhere). Plus we found a good deal of pretentiousness.
