I thought there was a recent thread on this but couldn't find any. I need two new ceiling fans. I have looked at Lowes & Home Depot here in Franklin and haven't really seen anything I like. I have heard good things about Hunter (vs Harbor Breeze and Hampton Bay). I HATE NOISE so am looking for quiet without spending too much - maybe $200??? I called Hermitage Lighting but they do not install. You have to organize that yourself. Anyone know of another place to look at fans or maybe a HD or a Lowe's with a bigger selection? Thanks. Thinking ahead . . . .

Last year I found two ceiling fans that worked for us. Got them at Home Depot in Spring Hill. The fan was hanging as a display, but was not in stock, so we ordered them.

We also checked out the Lowes in Spring Hill, and the Lowes in Columbia. Amazingly, their displays of fans (the ones hanging) were totally different from each other! So try looking at a couple other HDs and Lowes.

Of course the best selection is online, but I like to actually see what I am buying. We had to pay an electrician to install them, as that service was not offered at HD.

Good luck!

No one will have a better selection than HD or Lowes. You could try Graybar Electric downtown. You'll probably have to order just about everything and the same thing will be available at HD or Lowes for way less money.

Hermitage Lighting Gallery has a large selection of fans, since you aren't finding anything you like I'd at least look at what they have because installing a ceiling fan shouldn't be too much of a charge from an electrician & you might find one that you love.

Thanks much . . . never lived with a ceiling fan before so they are a new 'applicance' . . . I am always afraid they will fall off in the middle of the night. BUT when it's hot, they are very nice to have. A guy at Lowe's told me if I spend more then $50 it will be quiet but I have heard horror stories about fans not being 'level' or something? I guess if I don't like it I can have them come UN-install it? Thanks for everyone's help.
