I am interested in opinions on Murfreesboro public schools. We will have two kids in high school and two in elementary. I came across a rental house which is a fit and in this district:

Carson Lane Academy
Rockvale Middle School
Riverdale High School

Any thoughts on these or other schools?

Rutherford Co public schools are better than Davidson Co (Nashville) schools. Riverdale and Oakland were the two original high schools, but since the 'boro is booming, there is Blackman and Seigel, which are newer, and a bit more attractive.

Cason Lane: nice local elementary/middle school. I volunteered to read there last fall. Was impressed with the building, teachers and students. Walkable neighborhoods with lots of kids (I live within walking distance).

Rockvale Middle: I think students can stay at Cason or transfer to Rockvale for their middle school. Rockvale Middle is also fed by Rockvale Elementary so you would have students who know each other since 1st grade and the new kids coming in from Cason Lane. Know an assistant principal there. She is a class act and if the school is as good as she is....

Riverdale: large school, lots of class choices for students. Mix of students from a few areas. Great sports reputation. Typical problems of a large city school.
