I had decided on which schools we felt would be best - now my son was just diagnosed with aspergers. I am looking for any info on middle schools for kids with these challenges. Thanks

There are three middle schools that serve kids who live in Brentwood: Brentwood Middle, Woodland Middle and Sunset Middle.

I don't have personal experience, but I can at least get you in touch with a professional. For specific questions, I would contact Shelly Luckett at shelly.wcslink@gmail.com or (615) 794-8067. She is with the county school system and also coordinates the support group for parents of kids with special needs. She can provide you with specific insight on the process.

Hello,

I have a child with Aspergers. I am in Davidson County. I would definitely get in touch with your local Autism Society Chapter. I have heard great things about the one in Williamson County. I have also heard good things about the Williamson County school system in regards to exceptional education. When my son was first diagnosed, I found Vanderbilt's Kennedy Center to be a great resource as well.. best of luck.
