Locals on game show
There's a game show on FOX called Don't Forget the Lyrics. They held auditions in Nashville this summer, and several of us got to go to LA and play. One will be on tonight! His name is Patrick, and he lives in the Nashville area. There will be more on future shows. Patrick's city-data name is 19PK74. (You may have seen him on FOX's morning show today with Charlie Chase.)
8PM, FOX, every Thursday. Wayne Brady's the host. Contestants can go home with nothing, a million, or anything in between. The band is the Rickey Minor Band from American Idol!

How exciting! I'll keep my fingers crossed for Patrick. I'm going to be at the Wake Forest-FSU football game tonight, so I won't be able to watch the show.
And akm4, when you said that several of "us" got to go, does that mean you're going to be on the show, too?

Yep- they must have been low on 42 year-old suburban moms or something
No word on when my episode will air, but they show previews of the next contestant at the end of every show. I'm the one in green who keeps jumping up and down and saying, "I love this game!" Yes- my kids are changing their identities and moving to an undisclosed location, LOL!

My wife knows Patrick. He also acts in plays around Franklin, and works where my wife used to...apparently he won $100k last night.

I didn't get to see the show (but Wake beat FSU! woohoo!!!) so I didn't get to see you bouncing up and down on TV. I hope you'll keep us posted on when you'll be on the show. I can't imagine what that would be like! What are some of the songs you had to do?
Oh, and when they introduce you, do they say you're from Nashville, or Franklin?

I'm not allowed to discuss which songs, backups, or artists were used.
As for where I'm from, it's funny you asked. Before I went on, I was expecting the announcer to introduce me with my 2 last names, as a songwriter from Franklin, TN. Instead I was told it would be 1 name and I was to say I was a "typical soccer mom". They also said they had a bunch of players from the Nashville auditions, so my hometown in CA was used, which was fine with me.
That's "reality" TV! LOL!
I'm not complaining, though, really. I had the BEST time ever. Even if my two backups and I did about keel over from the heat and lights!! We didn't mind one bit. It was a great time.

Maybe you can go to your kids' school and do a few numbers. "I love this school!"
;-)

Maybe you could write a song to celebrate the event . . .
I just wanted to be a reality TV star
.. Get my big fifteen minutes of fame
I just knew I was gonna go far
.. People everywhere would know my name
But when I finally got my big break
.. I couldn't remember the words to the song
That's when I felt like just such a fake
.. And they booted me off and said 'So long'
:-) Just teasing.
