My parents are retiring soon and are planning on relocating to Chapel Hill or one of the surrounding towns possibly. My questions is, my sister is planning on coming with them as well and she has 2 bi-racial children (white and african american), will her children or her be treat like outcast or treated differently due to the fact that the kids are bi-racial? Do the town people see welcoming to those who weren't born and raised there? I hope no one is offended by this. Please don't be. I really am just trying to make sure they are protected. They live in Maryland and have seen some "looks and whispers". I just want them to be in an area where the kids won't be treated like outcast. Thank you in advance!

She will be just fine. Chapel Hill is a rural, but welcoming community. It is close to Murfreesboro, Spring Hill, and Columbia which offer much more in terms of city conveniences. Middle Tennessee is full of transplants, as long as you respect others privacy, they will respect yours.

I will be relocating to TN I haven't located housing that accommodates upper low income of persons on disability that are near or in Chapel Hill or the surrounding towns except for Spring Hill Villages and I can never get their phone to answer and the web site address is permanently disabled. I hope someone knows of nice, decent safe houses or duplexes or even small apartment complexes. Can anyone help me, please?

I moved here in 2013 from illinois. I love this small town. Like it becuase i can travel all around to different stores and still be in a quite neighborhood. People are nice. Houses are spread apart in some of the subdivions. Crime is very low. I have met a lot people here from new york, california, michigan, ohio, illinois. So far. Great place to raise your kids. Also they put in a new walmart minnnie store with gas and they are putting in another school. Brand new should be ready by this year. More homes are being built. Henry horton state park is near by with golf course to. We are so happy to move to this location. My kids love it.
