Hi I am a local (live in Antioch) and am looking to start a busines in the Nashville area. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for what kind of businesses are needed / desired. Also what towns/ areas do you think are seeing the highest growth right now? I know that with companies laying off workers (like Whirlpool in Lavergne) it would be great for the local economy if more people started businesses in the area. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated!

Best regards,

Laura

Hi Laura,
I know you started this forum about business ideas. I am not from the Nashville area, but am hoping to move in 2009. Can you tell me a little about the Antioch area? I was looking for homes in this area and am getting mixed reviews about Antioch not being safe. Can you give me your input on that area?

Hi Laura,
Wow, that's a big question! Really, there are probably a ton of different business ideas that would work in this area, but I would recommend you start with looking at either a) what you're naturally good at or you already have some of the major skills, talent or experience or b) something that meets a need that you, yourself, have found to be something that you would need or like to see. Chances are that if you've wished there was something to meet that need, then plenty of others probably think the same way. I know that's a broad answer, but again, the possibilities are just as broad.
