Default Futrure Nashville Zoo Employee Looking for a good apartment community

Hello All,

I am moving to the Nashville area in a couple of months to start a job at the Zoo and since I do not know the area I would greatly appreciate any help people could give in suggesting a few good apartment communities in the greater Nashville area to look at in order to get my apartment hunt started. I really only need three things out of a place.
1) A safe area - I have been living in Baltimore the last two years and am fed up with having to worry about my car getting broken into if I park in the wrong block
2) A resonable commute to the Zoo anything within 15 or 20 miles of downtown should keep me close enough to get to work fairly easy.
3)Quit neighbors (I am just finishing up grad school and listening to college freshmen through keggers is not very high on my priority list any more)

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

There are many Apartments on Edmonson Pike off of Old Hickory Blvd. The closer to Old Hickory the better the area. Its about 10 minutes from the zoo from there. Area is called Nipers Corner.
The zoo is off of Nolensville Road and not downtown. I know someone who lives in Arbors of Brentwood and says its nice.
You can also look at Lenox Village and see if there are any condos for rent.
Lenox village is on Nolensville Rd, the oposite side of Old Hickory from the Zoo.

Diane

I lived in an apartment complex on Edmonson Pike for around 15 years and watched the crime in the area increase steadily. Many of the apartment complexes in south Nashville seem to be especially crime-ridden. I finally moved away from south Nashville a year ago due to the crime. Check the commentaries on specific complexes at Apartment Ratings - Apartments for Rent with Ratings and Reviews from Actual Renters. You might consider renting a house. Some of the neighborhoods seem less crime-ridden than the large apartment complexes. Go to the Tennessean newspaper site and search for their crime map database to see the relative high-crime areas.

See if you can find a house for rent in Crieve Hall (around Harding Rd between I65 and Nolensville)-best area is west of Nolensville and South of Harding. Or Berry Hill, or around 65 and Old Hickory Blvd-Brentwood. or Green Hills

Hey there, I just moved in Nipper's Corner. It's very nice and safe. I just passed the zoo as a matter of fact earlier today and it wasn't a bad drive. Only took me 10 minutes. Well good luck finding a place!
