I'll be moving my family to the Franklin area sometime this summer. Can anyone provide some suggestions as to what areas are good and what areas we should avoid? We would like to get a 4 / 5 bedroom newer home with some land attached around $350K to $400K. Schools also need to be a consideration. Thanks.

Default Nashville/Franklin Homes

Have you already relocated to the Franklin/Nashville area? I'd love to help if you'll tell me when you plan to be here.

Feel free to go to my website for more information about the area, along with all of my contact information. I hope to hear from you soon!

As for areas to avoid, I can't think of any. I would consider your commute, though, and test-drive your trip to work at your usual commute time before pulling the trigger. I live right off I-65 and can get into Nashville in 17-30 minutes, while it takes my friend in Westhaven (a neighborhood in Franklin) twice that long most days. That doesn't mean it's an area to avoid, just farther out.

Are schools an issue? If you like the balanced calendar schedule, stay inside of Franklin Special School District. Poplar Grove School is pre-K through 8th grade.

To get more land for your Franklin buck, look at homes zoned for Page High. Gorgeous, gorgeous land. Rolling hills, family farms, etc. Depending on your location within that area, though, consider the drive to the school itself. It can be tricky, especially for new drivers. I don't know your kids' ages, (if any), but there you go.

I hope you find the perfect place. We moved here 6 years ago and absolutely love it.

Good luck!
