Summer weather in Nashville area (home, school, living in)

Our family is looking to move to the Nashville area, but we are concerned the summers may be to hot and humid. It looks like the average high is 90 and low about 70. Can anyone comment on thier experiences with the summers? We know we can handle the rest of the year. We are from the west and used to no humidity.

It gets very humid in the middle tenn area June-Sept.
Fall is the best season followed by Spring and then the mild winters. Summer is the worst.
I've been here my whole life (50 yrs) and I love it! No place is perfect.

When I lived in Colorado, I dealt with Chinook winds, which made my bicycle ride to school and work plenty hard. I also dealt with going somewhere in short sleeves in the morning, then coming home in a snowstorm later that day.
In Phoenix, I had to jog at 4 am. The heat was dry, but I didn't find jogging in an oven to be more a lot more comfy than jogging in a sauna.
In Las Cruces, I couldn't breath at that altitude, and it slowed me down.
I also suffered more severe sun damage.
In San Francisco, I was chilled most of the time, and got tired of the steep hills and no parking everywhere.
In Wisconsin, the cold and snow came in October, and I didn't see the ground again until late April. From Nov.- March, the cold would hit me in the face like a brick everytime I went outside.
In Florida and Georgia, I was either inside in Air conditioning or outside on a bicycle. At 20 mph. on a bike, one doesn't feel the humidity.
Isn't it great how we can find something weatherwise to ***** about everywhere we go?

I am from the west too - LA area - and basically the only reason I don't like Nashville is because of the humid summers..Sometimes its not that bad really, like right now its 67 degrees, sunny, and the humidity percentage is 53 and there is a light breeze that maskes it feel wonderful. Consider getting a pool when you move here if you really can't stand it. But you'll get used to it.

67 degrees?? That would be wonderful to me lol I live in Houston and its sooo hot and humid. I will be looking forward to the change of seasons! What is winter like there?

Yeah..today was one of those days where it felt great outside..we're enjoying it!! To Honey: the winters here are probably quite different than what you are used to in Houston..I've lived here 7 years and lowest its ever dropped was 17 degrees and that was overnight..daytime average winter temps I would say are around 40 - 55 degrees sometimes up to 60 on rare occasions.

Sounds wonderful to me Tn! I am originally from the northern panhandle of Texas and use to colder winters. Some winters in Houston are so mild,,,,you don't even realize you had winter,,,,like going from fall to spring lol Hey,,,what part of Tn are you living in?

Yes I am,,,,looks more to be west memphis though and having a hard time finding a place....
