We are moving from Polk county Fl, to Medina, TN. Anyone have any feedback regarding Medina or anywhere close to Medina?

I have never heard of this town. Is it in West TN? What large city/town is it by?

Yeah it's in West Tennessee near Jackson, right next to the old military arsenal near Milan. There aren't too many people in this forum who move to West Tennessee. I think that says something.

I doubt it. I've never heard of Medina either. Maybe the Memphis forum would be better if it's close to Jackson.

My parents live in Medina, TN. It has excellent schools, many people from neighboring Humboldt actually try to enroll their children there. However, it is a tiny, tiny, community. Nearby shopping in Milan is limited. For a large variety one has to go the 16 miles or so to Jackson. It is a wonderful area for raising small children, high schoolers attend Gibson County and get to meet a larger population.

This is truly a bedroom community. No nightlife.

Hope this helps.

I had a fraternity brother from Medina. The first time I'd heard of the town was in 1971. Today was the second. Guess it's quiet there.

Default Medina

I lived in Medina until I married and moved to Jackson. That was 27 years ago. A lot of changes have taken place in the past 27 years and from what I can tell the changes have all been for the best. I continue to have family and friends in Medina and would not hesitate to move back there. I love my small town raising and I think of it often. I now live in Dyersburg and very rarely get the opportunity to go back to visit, but I miss it greatly.

Medina is a very fast growing community just north of Jackson, Tennessee. However, since it is in Gibson County, it is not technically counted in the metro area.

There was almost 200 housing starts for the town in 2006, very impressive for a town under 2,000. They are in the process of buidling new schools as well.

There is little to no commercial, however, it is easy drive to the suburban amenities in North jackson.
