I am moving to nashville for work and looking at apartments near Donelson, Hermitage, Airport area. Any suggestions... would be helpful. How are these areas in terms of safety / general living?

there are alot of apartments in the briley parkway area near I-40. Google map Glastonbury Rd. It's right off Briley parkway and is literally a stone's throw from I-40, I440, and I24 and donelson pike, and is slightly west of the airport. i live in that region now, and there are lots of apartment complexes (cheap) in that vicinity. I've been paying $565/month for my apt and lived here for a year and a half. as far as safety goes, eh, i've never felt threatened and i'm a 23 yr old girl. this area is pretty diverse but you just have to be careful anywhere. lock your doors and windows, be alert, etc. i recently bought a house and am moving soon, but i can attest to this area. you could live in hermitage, but some of the apartments out there are a little more expensive since it's suburban. good luck!

the complex i live in is parliament place. i would recommend it to anyone who's not looking for something fancy. it's very basic but the manager (kathy) is really good and doesn't take any crap.

"very basic" means very white trashy

Stick to the Hermitage area

actually, "very basic" means very few amenities. it's not white trashy at all thanks, person who doesn't even live there. there's a cornucopia of of sudanese, kurdish, hispanic, and other ethnicities, and everyone there is pretty much working class. oh! i forgot. you could live out in hermitage-suburban-sprawl land and have to drive 10 miles to get to everything. i guess it just depends what your priorities are. i had a friend who just moved away from TN, he lived near stewart's ferry in the "nice" apartments and i've never seen so much trashiness in my life.
