In researching the school districts around Nashville, I found an interesting tidbit about the Franklin SSD and wanted some input as to the reasoning.

My understanding is that Franklin is an expensive part of the greater Nashville area. What I can't comprehend is how their schools can have such a high rate of economically disadvantaged students. For example, Franklin Elementary has a 55% rate. The others range from 12-38%. Are there extremely run-down portions of Franklin? Is it just home to lots of alimony-only ex-wives claiming low income?

Any insight is appreciated. Thank you.

Excellent schools, though. Franklin El and Liberty both have more diversity, and we loved Liberty! Loved it. From volunteering at the school, being a room mom and working on PTO projects, I can tell you this much- there are a lot of Hispanic families there who may not earn the most in Franklin, but what wonderful, involved parents. Not all, of course, like anything, but on the whole? Fantastic!
