I liked Martin's when I tried them out. Haven't found time to go back yet though.

I don't get over there all the time but I've heard people say there's a noticeable difference on the days Pat's riding herd versus the days he's not.
Quoting my own post as an excuse to bump the thread. Martin's is planning to open a second location in Mt. Juliet next to the Providence shopping center. Because of the factors I mentioned above, going chain (even locally) can be dicey for a barbecue place. Hope they do a good job with the new joint, because I'm, like, right down the road.

being a native Middle Tennessean, when I go back to the area,I always venture back to Excel BBQ on Old Ashland City Highway in Montgomery County
Its a old gas station and the BBQ is the best around the Nashville area.

I don't claim to know good BBQ but I did enjoy my ribs and pulled pork at Martins- the flavor was amazing. When I return I would certainly go back, but I'm going to try some other recommended BBQ places too. You never know, there may be several BBQ houses sharing first place

I didn't care for Martin's, like Jack's and Center Point. The best I had was at Douglas's Market in Joelton, go on Friday for lunch, full rack of ribs and 2 sides for $9, fantastic.
