What's your favorite neighborhood in Nashville?

Looking for a 2-bedroom, 2 - 2.5 bath house, under 2K sq ft, in a very established (if not historic) neighborhood in Franklin or Nashville under $400K. What would be your top pick?

Not living there, I don't really know the "confines" of each area, but it's not really relevant (to me) or important. All the "urban" neighborhoods seem very closely linked.
I guess my general question is, you hear alot about how walkable Hillsboro Village is. I understand its close proximity to Vandy and Green Hills is, but the "heart" of the village seems extremely confined to a block of shops and restaurants. It seems extremely limited in offerings.
I understand Nashville is an extremely car-oriented city. But, while ATL (for example) may have more expansive areas or ammenties, so is it for day-to-day life. So, I understand.
But, is there any particular area (one moreso than another) that offers any better "connection" to local restaurants on a nightly basis (in terms of day-to-day life) where it's not as necessary to get in the car and where it's safe enough to walk?
My guess is no...and that's okay. Just checking.

West end... within reasonable proximity to I440
If you are close to interstate you can be anywhere in Nashville in 20 minutes
