It appears partial funding was just provided to connect St Louis to Chicago via high-speed rail. It got me looking at which network/corridor Nashville is anticipated to be on...and I don't see it included in any corridor. Is this the case?

It certainly seems Nashville is an "enviable" spot geographically. It would be a great "gateway city"/hub that could easily connect to the Southeast corridor (via ATL, probably); to the aforementioned Chicago-Hub corridor (via Louisville, probably); and to the South Central Corrdor (via Little Rock, probably).
Anyone have any insight into Nashville's envisioned "role" for high-speed rail growth? Or, is it truly left off any corridors as the map currently shows?

Once again like i said around the site , High Speed Corridors should only be built though or to cities with a few Light Rail lines or commuter , otherwise that city should be bypassed or placed as low low-priority line. Get a few Light Rail lines into place and you will defiantly be one step closer, but for now your far away form it , even Florida has plans for a statewide and individual city networks, and they barley have anything. But i do see a line coming through the Greater Nashville Metro in 10-15 years.

Nashville could see a stop if they plan on ever connecting Louisville, KY to Birmingham, AL. I don't think you'll see an east/west line through Nashville due to the Smoky Mountains and the currently proposed line running from the east coast through Atlanta and on to Birmingham.

It would be nice, but I imagine Middle TN will continue to be absent in the rail network for some time to come. I might actually travel occasionally if I could take a train.

I understand that a huge part of the fact that Nashville is overlooked is because its Congressional delegation (Cooper and Gordon) have very little clout in the Democrat caucus. Of course, Blackburn is a Republican, and they are out of the loop completely.
