Hi,
We are relocating to Franklin with a four year old and have applied for Pre-K. We haven't gotten a house yet and are wondering which elementary schools we should consider being close to?

are you thinking franklin special or williamson county schools in Franklin?

A lot will depend on your price point. Everyone we know in Franklin Special love it Moore and the balanced calandar school whose name is escaping me.

As for applying for Pre-K, I don't know anyone that uses the public schools for pre-K unless they have an IEP for their kid.

Franklin Schools | Franklin, TN | Education.com

Above is a link to a great site for viewing the school scores in Franklin. We're moving to that area, too, so I've been checking out the elementary school scores for my kids. Be careful. It seems there are quite a few high performing schools mixed in with a few lower scoring.
That being said, scores aren't everything. I just need hard facts to help me choose where to buy a home since I don't know the area at all. Good luck!

My kids have had a great experience with Walnut Grove, and I've heard good things about Poplar Grove as well. Now that the new school (Pearre Creek) is scheduled to be ready for the fall, my son will transfer there. I to have as positive an experience there as I have had with the rest of the Williamson County schools. My middle child is now in Grassland Middle and my oldest in Franklin High. So far the schools here have been living up to their reputations. All three have been good places for my children.
