No; we only put the plastic snake in the rooster's mouth with the tail hanging out - the Wrens did the rest! There is a antique store, as you enter Wyalusing, PA, that sells all size chickens and roosters - we presume from south of the border. The Wrens have their nest all the way down the throat and use the snake as their ladder to climb out and perch. They are currently busy feeding their young; which we have not seen. They are also very reclusive when it comes to being photographed - they do not like the camera; otherwise I would get better pictures.
