Was it because they were both captured and together in a cage? Both had lost their freedom? Fear? I love it when supposed enemies become friends with strong bonds. Why can't humans do the same?

looks like the donkey could have killed the wolf if it tried anything... it was more than twice it's size... and the wolf was alone (mostly pack hunters)
