Just wondering if anyone knew if Ogallala or any other small NE towns needed a barber.

I can't name a town specifically, but I will say that lots of little towns do have someone who's a local beautician, and who does hair for both men and women. It's pretty common to see someone with a shop in their home. I haven't seen many towns with a specific barber shop in the downtown area, although you'll see beauty parlors in bigger towns.

I don't know if they still have a Barber & Beauty shop in the big truck stop in Ogallala but I know they used to. I don't know what it is now but back in the day it was a Union 76.

It's been several years since we've headed out that way to Colorado, so I have absolutely no idea. Is the OP interested in opening a barber shop, or are you looking to get a hair cut? I assumed you were looking to start a business, but now I'm thinking that was probably wrong.

As far as I know, McCook has only one barber but most stylists also cut mens hair today.

Ogallala has a couple barber shops in town that are owned and operated by gentlemen who may be close to retirement. This may be an ideal time to talk to them about a succession plan for their businesses.
