Where we're from, though, the rental market was cheaper. It was a total shock to pay almost $700 rent!! But it was a safe, decent place in a really quiet, pleasant neighborhood, so I couldn't complain.
I wish you all the best with coming on out. I know he misses you a lot!!

Wow- do you work with him?
I do not think we will regret the move. We have been back and forth about it for a while now, but I think we will make the move to NP. He has met some really nice people there and made some friends, so he is starting to feel more at home there.
I think we will have to move in July or August instead of June, but we are looking into the details now and very much looking forward to being together as a family more.
Glad to hear you are happy there

I am sure you will enjoy North Platte. I don't get down that way a lot, but when I have I have enjoyed myself fully. You have received some good advice already. Welcome to our state. Don't forget your cowboy boots and hat! And if your up my way, coffee is always on.

Hello,
A bit of an update here.
We ARE moving to North Platte. We'll leave NY in two weeks.
So, soon I will be a Nebraskan!
I am looking forward to living there, and, of course, having my family all together again.
Thank you all for your help and advice!
xx

Enjoy the landscape out there.. It is very nice, I went out there for a husker volleyball spring game a couple of years ago, and I noticed that the area has a variety of landscapes nearby that really drew my attention..

Glad to have you as a neighbor!

Thank you very much!
I think it is pretty flat right around NP, but it looks as if it gets more interesting just north and NW of there. I will learn more about the terrain soon.
I do look forward to the wide open space again. I feel so claustrophobic here in NY- with all of the trees and undulating hills it is hard to ever find a spot where you can "see". I like to see the land and sky- especially the nighttime sky.
