This is helpful. We are going out in mid-June to actually look so it is nice to have a better sense of the ads before then. Do any of you know anything about Belmont and 8th? I just saw an ad on craigslist for townhome in that area?

i used to live over by that area... however i believe there is nothing around 8th (due to I-180 cutting through there). I think there are some duplexes (newer 4bed 2 bath) around 4th and 5th though... not sure if those may be the ones. It is mostly college students that lived around there from what I remember... not sure if it still is though.

Quote:
a townhome at 22nd and Pine Lake
a townhome at 84th and Holdredge
a house at 46th and Van Dorn
a house near Leighton and 67th
40th and Old Cheney
and 7321 N. 17th St.
Well 40th and Old Cheney and 22nd and Pine Lake are not bad on time. It'll take you maybe 15 minutes in rushhour to get to campus from these two locations. They are the nicer areas of Lincoln.
67th and Leighton is nice. I used to live in northeast Lincoln, and it is still my favorite area of the city. It's more middle class than the two previous locations.
84th and Holdredge is probably the farthest away from campus, but it's a nice area.
The other two locations I don't really have any experience with.
HTH!

Welcome to Lincoln!!
When you get ready to buy a home be sure to check out Michael Butcher at Home Real Estate (540-7235). We moved to Lincoln about a month ago and he was able to find our dream home within a matter of weeks. He really took the time to listen to what we were looking for and we felt like he cared as much as we did.
Good Luck with your move. I hope it goes as smooth as ours!
Jenny

All of this is very helpful. Thanks very much! If anyone has other suggestions, please keep posting. We're coming to Lincoln in mid-June to actually look at places to rent.
