Hello,

I don't care about schools, but I'm wondering where's a safe affordable place to live that's close to the strip. I'm looking for a studio or 1 bedroom apartment/condo, preferably with a gym, and its own washer/dryer.

Thank you

Looks like things are pretty cheap in Vegas, hopefully under $1000/month, but the cheaper the better so long as it's not in the ghetto. I have a car so if it has a garage that's even better. I'm hoping to be within 20 minutes of the strip.

Have you ever been here? 90% of the valley is within a 30 minute drive from the strip. You can find hundreds of options in your price range.

FYI - the closer you get to the strip, the more "ghetto" you'll find. For under $1000 you can get a nice 2bdrm/2ba apt/condo in any of 50 neighborhoods.

Yes, there's lot of cheap places, I guess something like this is what I'm looking for:
REALTOR.com - Real estate listings & homes for sale

That's within 20 minutes. It's in SW Las Vegas and I don't know the neighborhood. I'm blown away with how cheap everything is since I'm from the NYC area. That looks really nice and I'd have to live in a crack house for that price around here. Plus no income tax, those in Vegas have it made other than the summer heat, but it's only 4 hours to the CA coast and the Grand Canyon. I guess Mt. Charleston is a pretty popular place to beat the heat since it's only an hour away. I don't know if there's anything else or if that's pretty much it? I've been to Vegas, but stayed on the Strip and didn't leave it other than to go back and forth to the airport.

You should probably post this in the LV board.
