Hi Guys,
I'm a single mom with a 3 yr old daughter. I am relocating from orange county to Las Vegas.
I will be working in the 89115 in which I've heard it's probably not the best city to live in.
I'm looking for apartment complex under 1k and safe preschools.
Any recommendations would be a great help!!
Thank you in advance.

Don't think about Henderson...Hopeless commute and other problems.

I would think she cannot afford good Henderson. So less good Henderson...so not so hot older neighborhoods and trouble finding good day care. Older and less desirable people in not great neighborhods.

She might be able to work it but tough. Northern Henderson can be difficult and she still needs to deal with the bad part of the commute.

She will find things much more amenable in the north and NW with a much younger population, newer housing and a better commute.

Could you please share with me "good Henderson" as I am seriously considering moving there. Safety is a
major consideration and a toddler child is what prompts that concern. What neighborhoods in Henderson should be avoided in your opinion and is Henderson really a "safe" area ?
Thank you again lvmensch for your valuable insights and input here ! I really do appreciate your responses.

Friend of mine back east just moved here to Azure apartments up north but too close to the bad hoods for me. I am down just past Searchlight but if I had to live in the Vegas area I would not live north of Sunset rd

Good Henderson is the area south of the 215. 89012, 89054. The area just north of the 215 89074 is also generally fine. There are also area in 89011, 89015 and 89002 that are fine though it is well removed from the "center" of Henderson. As a guide to "good" Henderson you can use Coronado HIgh School.
