We've only lived in our house for two years, so I have limited experience with this. We have two 330-gallon tanks, and we don't come close to using it all in a year's time. Last spring I started watching the prices and decided to buy when they seemed to stabilize at the lowest average price. I ended up filling the tanks in July. Just saw on the news that the price of crude oil is dropping, so that's good news for those of us who can wait it out.
