My NH registration is due in March. We plan on living in NH from May to December, then live in Florida from December to May. How do I deal with my NH registration while living in FL? And inspection? Would appreciate hearing how others do this.

you can register by mail - or you can do it in person, and it'll be late - it's not a disaster. Arrange to have it inspected as soon as you return.

You don't think we'd get caught driving up?

I don't think other states law enforcement officers look too closely at out of state inspection stickers. But there's nothing stopping you from getting one in October in NH, which would certainly cover you for the time you're away. Then you'll be good to go for another year from that point every year.

You can obtain a certificate or letter from the Town Clerk. With that letter or certficate it allows you to drive home and if inspection sticker is out of date the letter or certificate covers you. You do have to state when you are coming back. Go to the town/city hall and ask about this.

Also, you have up to 3 months before inspection due date to obtain an inspection. Same with registration.

Thanks for the advice. Only problem with registering in NH is that you have to go by your birth month, and mine is March, and we wouldn't be back up until June.
