We recently moved to Tuftonboro and I'm ready to get new cell phones for my wife and I. We have had AT&T for years where we lived in NY. AT&T is sketchy up here but it actually works OK at our house (with 3G - WOW). My parents have Verizon and it also works at my house.
Asking around to some of the locals I here more good about Verizon and also US Cellular. My issue is that I have an iPhone and plan on absolutely keeping an iPhone so that narrows me back down to AT&T or Verizon (or even Sprint now).
I am out of contract so there is no issue there. My problem with AT&T is that I will lose service and gain service 5 times while driving a mile distance. I'm not expecting miracles but will I be much happier with Verizon?
We're having the same issue. We are on Baxter Lake, in Farmington.
We just moved here from San Diego and have had Tmobile for over 10 years.
At first we had no service. Then I called them and I don't know if they boosted me or what but now I am getting service, but my husband isn't. We both have the same Blackberry Curve so it's not the phone.
I have heard Verizon is the best here but expensive too.
I've noticed in a lot of the rural areas where we have gone, there is no service but for the most part, in the cities, we have service.
We called Sprint and might change to them. Anyone have issues with Sprint?
Thanks
Leisa

From my experience in the area and talking to shops that sell phones (including Sprint), Sprint is no good for the country. Once you leave a major metro area, Sprint dies out...
I was afraid of that.....thanks.
So it's Verizon or US cellular?
thanks

I have Sprint and it doesn't work consistently in the Lakes or Seacoast region. It looks like it works...but it really doesn't. Even text messages don't always go...even though it looks like they do!
Lived in Wolfeboro for a month and a half. Verizon is the best way to go.
