Living in a high rise gives me a view most folks don't have here in Manchester. This view allows me to see police and emergency personnel activity and I see a lot,
The thing is I see many incidents involving multiple police cars on a regular basis yet for some strange reason none of them ever seem to appear in the news. Quite strange when WMUR is right down the road. Nothing on there..nothing in the paper.. no police reports..nothing So my question to you
Is it just me, or do you think they are keeping things from us?
Does the newspaper have the police blotter printed in it? Most papers do. The more mundane events won't make the news. Cops love to call for backup. Maybe that's why there's multiple cars responding.

Honestly- I doubt it. It would generally be in police/fire/EMS best interests for their importance to be front & center...it would help their competition for resources. I think you can listen to Manchester PD on the internet...I know folks broadcast their police scanners over it and I think I saw Manchester listed as a location that was being broadcast by someone...
We are in Londonderry, and I can say that rarely do we see a 1-car incident. Even a routine traffic stop seems to require 2 cars, sometimes more.
A good friend of ours is a retired Manchester fire lieutenant, and his scanner is on 24/7. According to him, the West Side IS very active. You have a great vantage point, and I would think a scanner would be very helpful to know what's going on in and around the city....
This thread came to mind as I am sitting on the 4th floor of the Queen City Ave Elliot surgical center. Arrived in this room at noon-thirty. First there was 1 cruiser at the intersection, shortly after, 1 more. Then a 3rd, all sitting there with running engines & lights flashing. Time now 3:40 and 2 have departed, 1 remains. Unfortunately I can't see what they are there for...
I think you are seeing the result of trying to save money by having only one officer per car. As any potentially dangerous action requires help or at least a witness the cop calls for backup and that requires another car.
I wonder if the cost of the additional cars is actually less than the cost of more officers or the same number of officers and fewer cars.
