Hi, we are looking to move out of MA, to NH. My husband's job is mostly in northern MA and we live in Southeastern MA so he will be able to stay with his company if we move to Southern NH. We were thinking about Rindge or the surrounding areas. We do have kids, but we homeschool so schools aren't an issue. We have looked at a couple of houses online--we would like to get a house with some land, and long to live in a quieter area than where we reside now. In our searches it seems like East and West Main Street in Rindge seems to have a lot of houses for sale over time. Is there something about this area that we should know about? We will be traveling up to the Rindge area soon (we had visited there a few years ago, when moving was just a "future" dream...now it will become a reality in a year or so, so our perspective is different). Any input, advice, wisdom would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Rindge is a nice town, I lived there for 6 years before finding my new home in the next town over. I'm not sure why the homes on main street seem to have a lot of turnover. If you like small town life and you do move to Rindge, make sure you and your husband vote in town. The residents in Rindge have so far been able to stop the town from moving in Federal low income housing but I am pretty sure their attempts are far from finished.
Thank you for your responses. From the article, it seems like there are people who are quite active in the town, wanting to keep it with its land and charm. Rest assured we will be joining in with the residents of the town should we end up there. Thanks again.
