Mrs GP and I are going to rent a camper for a weekend near the end of August. This is our first time "camping" and we'd like a recommendation for a good campground in NH, preferably north of Winnipesaukee. We'd like somewhere with good bathroom and shower facilities, power hook up, and with a decent clientele. Found a website with different listings, but its hard to sort through them, and first hand reports would be nice to hear.

Danforth Bay in Freedom (link below) is a pretty nice place with a lot of amenities, but they are considered an "RV Resort" so their summer rates are a bit high. If you can delay your stay until after 9/5 the rates are more reasonable.

If you are considering a different area or type of campground check out the NH section in RV Park Review:

We have stayed a few in the lakes area so if you have any specific questions feel free to PM me.

The Lantern Resort in Jefferson has RV rentals, is very clean. They sell out very quickly, so you might be out of luck for this year.
