He was charged as a juvenile but per WMUR, AAG "Ward said that in juvenile cases, prosecutors can petition to have a suspect tried as an adult, and then it would be up to a court to decide whether to move the case. He said he can't say whether that will be pursued in this case." His age has not been released, which I expect will make some difference in that decision.

I believe the age to be tried as an adult in NH is 17 but I'm not sure if exceptions can be made for murder. I hope they can treat it as an adult.

If he's tried and convicted as an adult, doesn't he end up in a juvey detention facility anyway?

Wow, I read the comments on that article and some are saying the (alleged) killer was the victim’s teenaged brother-in-law. (!!!). I can’t imagine the horror, let alone the motive.

I believe the way it works is he's in juvey until he turns 18 and then is transferred to state prison. Not positive on that though.

I read through the comments too. It sounds like it was Kassandra’s 16-year-old brother in law and he was living with them. I’m not sure if this is true but one commenter on the article said he did it while Kassandra and the kids slept and Sean was at work. Another commenter made it sound like the BIL shot the family dog too. Absolutely horrific.

So it was Sean's teenage brother who did this?

^^That’s what the comments accompanying the NY Post article are alleging, yes.

It was pretty obvious when LE said right away they had identified all involved parties that it was a family member or someone close to the family, not a random stranger. The NH subreddit, which has comments from actual NH residents unlike The NY Post, says he is 16 yo, living there, and schizophrenic.

I thought for sure the dad did it. Another argument for keeping guns out of the hands of kids that are nuts!
