There would also be senior housing, with 360 independent senior-living homes and 230 assisted-care units."

Laconia had just shy of 17,000 population during the 2020 census. Those 1300 units will probably add at least 2500(conservative seat of pants guesstimate) to that, so they're looking at almost a 15% population increase for the city.

Have fun with that Lakes Region.

Don't forget that the sewer and water systems need to be updated. More millions for Laconia taxpayers.

Yeah, it's a huge project. To put things in perspective, the town I'm building a house in showed 933 in the 2020 census.

Water, sewer, roads, schools, it's big.

Must be Dalton. I always think of it as the North Country version of West Virginia

That is not an inaccurate observation.

I've actually driven on most of the roads in Dalton, you'll always find interesting things around every corner that's for certain.

That sounds like someone who really shouldn't be behind the wheel of a vehicle!

My husband and I were in Salem today in the Rockingham shopping area, and it was hideous. We enjoyed lunch at the Chick-fil-a and shopped at World Market. But the area is a hot mess of shops and traffic, very much like Rt. 9 in Framingham, MA. We probably won't go back for at least a year. Anyway, we left MA to get away from this sort of congestion.

Um that retail corridor has been there for 40 years.

I admit my response is, “ooh, there’s a World Market in Salem?” Last thing I knew the closest one was in Framingham. It’s not exactly close to me, but it’s closer than Framingham.

Yes. But they've added a ton more retail shops and restaurants at the former racetrack. The area is really hideous now.
