The White Mountains have a 90%+ historical probability of a white Christmas (snow on ground), although two years in the past decade have seen no snow cover on Christmas in the WM (2003 and 2006).

At any rate, it's certainly one of your best bets in the Northeast for a white Christmas. If not, I suppose you could always try your luck across the border in Québec.

Last year we spent Thanksgiving at Sunday River and the snow was decent for early season. My brother has a place up there and this week he said it's just depressing....it rained up there today. He is off to Whistler in early December to take advantage of the snow out there.
The mild November is making up for the June we never had. A little snow would be nice around Christmas.

Thank you for this info!

Quebec is on our list of places to vist but I can't imagine anywhere being prettier at Christmastime than the White Mountains.
