I have relatives in Maple Shade but have never lived there. A couple times I visited in the 90's, I remember a Jo-Ann Fabrics there (next to where Lowe's now is) which now appears to be a Bally Fitness. For many years it was a store called "The Cloth World" which Jo-Ann must have acquired. I think they were a chain. Seemed like it was an A&P supermarket at one time too. Did Jo-Ann here close or just move? If so when did it close?

Jo-Ann Fabrics moved to Centerton Square shopping center in Mt.Laurel when that center went up. In addition, they have a store in Marlton, and one apparently in Westmont (never been to that store).

The Sports Authority left Maple Shade for that plaza as well, although The Sports Authority opened up a store in Cherry Hill across the CH Mall to accommodate traffic west of Maple Shade.

LA Fitness didn't acquire the Maple Shade or Voorhees Bally's since LA Fitness had sites in Mt.Laurel and Somerdale. So, Lowes is sadly the only tenant in that plaza in Maple Shade now. Regarding LA Fitness, I wonder if they could buy out lease of the for sale Genuardi's site in Marlton. Marlton lacks a full service gym, and the demographics would seem to make sense for LA Fitness.
