Hello all,

I know I'm extremely late to be asking this, but where on the Jersey side of the Delaware can you view the fireworks that go off at by Penn's Landing without having to pay a "cover charge" to get into the viewing area? I know Camden would be the first obvious option, but I was told that you need to pay to get into the "viewing area" and I don't want to park on a side street in Camden for obvious reasons. Also parking on 676 is out of the question. I want to be able to get out of my car.

I was told the park in Gloucester City has a good view, but the problems I see with that are the WW bridge possibly being in the way and that I'm going with my partner and I've heard that some people aren't as accepting there, in case we do decide to peck when the ball drops. :/

I was scrolling the map, looking for possible spots. I was thinking maybe the parking lot Shop Rite shopping center in Brooklawn. There's also a baseball field in a neighborhood off of New Broadway and a large grassy area on Park Dr.

Do you think going north to Delair or Palmyra by the river, would be too far and out of view? I know the river curves, but you could still see the fireworks, I'm assuming.

Also, possibly Haddon Ave, around Westmont / Collingswood or Cooper River Park by the bridge on 130, or would that be too far from the display?

I understand this is very last minute and I will accept if there are no replies in time. :P But, this may be a good guide for future reference, for the 4th of July and for years to come.

Well, I ended up going to Cooper River, since it has a clear view of the skyline of Philadelphia about 2-3 miles away. I also found an article online from the 4th of July that advertised events, that included "a perfect view of the Penn's Landing fireworks. The only issue I had with it (beside the 15 degree windchill by the river) was that they were far away. I didn't think 2 miles away from the sight was that far, especially for how large the show was. But, I had a good time, none the less.

Glad you found a spot. I haven't been to those fireworks just to watch the fireworks in years. The last time I went though, it was free to watch them from Camden. A few years ago my wife and I went to the party at the Aquarium which included dancing, open bar, etc. However, they now do a family program earlier in the day and don't have the party. There are a lot of cool parties with rather inexpensive covers over in the city. For under $100 a person you can usually snag a buffet and open bar at a place with a view of the fireworks.

One of my coworkers went to the Hyatt Regency and said he and his partner had a blast. A friend of mine and his wife went to SugarHouse and plan to go back next year. If you plan a little in advance, there are some really cool and relatively affordable New Year's Eve events around Philly.
