Can anyone tell us about Cape May Court House? I have been driving thru it for years. Looks like a nice little quite town. How is it to live there?

Probably not. Most people here are from North Jersey or are out-of-state interlopers.

Go visit during the colder months.. It's absolutely dead. They don't even bother to use red stop lights, but have flashing yellows because there's rarely a car on the road. Most everything is closed except for the major grocery store. Wildwood crest is the same way. Deader than dead..

I’m originally from around there. It was a great place to grow up as a kid, near the beach, lots of woods. But yea it’s pretty dead in the winter. You’ll find yourself driving to the shore towns to go out. That’s really the best part of being there, so close to the beach but not subjected to storms and crowds. So if you don’t like the beach, not sure it’s worth living down there. I imagine the job market is pretty slim too. Also traffic gets pretty heavy during the weekend summer months. Overall locals are nice, it’s quiet in the off season, and near the beaches.

Oops, I've been thinking of retiring here. I grew up in NJ and I currently live in Westchester, NY.

Are the interlopers friendly? Is there a sense of community?

I meant on the board. People comment about places where they've lived for a short time or have visited. I do. According to them, all Northern New Jerseyans are rude, and everyone in Southern New Jersey is a redneck. Since you know that's not true, you shouldn't have a problem.

Gerona,

What is the difference between North Cape May, West Cape May and Cape May Court House?

Are these areas similar? Are the people about the same?

Thanks for any information

One is next to Cape May and the other two aren't. West Cape May is very nice. Everything looks tidy and well kept. Nice restaurants! While there's not much shopping, there is a CVS and market. Sunset Blvd. and Broadway are very busy in the summer.

North Cape May isn't great. While there are some lovely homes on and near Beach Drive, the rest of the town is underwhelming. Chain link fencing doesn't do anything for me.

Cape May Court House is a place you drive through on the way to Cape May. With Route 9 and the Parkway tearing the place in two, I wouldn't want to live there.
