Are some towns more 'businesses and industrial parks' and others more 'housing developments?'
It's hard to look at all these towns (without having secured jobs) and know where to find a place to live.
We need areas (for jobs) to focus on. I've checked out schools and prices. I am still not sure if we'd be able to swing 'rent under 1200' for a 2 bedroom with a dog (50 lb) and not in a high rise...Okay, the search goes on.
Mount Laurel might be a good place to look. Great schools and quite a few industrial/office parks in the area. They also have a large quantity of condos in the township and you may be able to find a two bedroom for rent around $1200 a month. From that location you could easily work in South Jersey, Philadelphia, and possible even jump on 295 N for a job in Central Jersey.

The job center is mainly Philly, but there are a ton of small, medium and large businesses based all over South Jersey. There really aren't any major concentrations outside of Philly, but the Route 70 and 38 corridors are packed with offices and business/industrial parks. If I had to pick areas outside of Philly to name it would probably be Cherry Hill and Mt. Laurel. However, pretty much all of the towns you have been considering would be an easy commute to any of the job areas. For isntance, you can live in Collingswood or Haddon Twp. and be in Cherry Hill in less than 10 minutes or Mt. Laurel in 20. I think the major thing to maximize job opportunities that are in close proximity would be to stick to the areas north of route 42 along the 295 corridor, but not further north than Burlington. That gives you pretty much all of Camden and most of Bulrington Counties as viable options.
