Bullying is pervasive throughout society. Surveys indicate that as many as half of all children are bullied at some time during their school years, and at least 10% are bullied on a regular basis. Nearly half of all American workers (49%) have been affected by workplace bullying. This has adverse affects on businesses and corporations. Cyber bullying is now becoming ever more widespread. It is when people bully each other using cell phones, the Internet, or other cyber technology.

If you look at reality TV and daytime talk shows from the past ten years, they have routinely and persistently glorified psychological violence and bullying. Todays generation of young people has grown up digesting that bile.

The political arena has shown that our most prominent leaders are all too willing to engage in verbal violence, slander, and lies both during elections and while in office. Look at the childish fights that are common between the two political parties. Add to that a news media that has also discarded journalistic civility and often takes sides in mean-spirited petty political squabbles

A recent report in USA Today reveals that college students today are 40% less empathetic than their contemporaries only ten years ago. Todays youth are simply acting on what they've learned from irresponsible and petty politicians, entertainment venues and pop celebrities. That's how they're being raised by our society.

now my daughter is in 5th grade and there is a cyber "bullying" incident. my daughter isnt the target but her name was thrown into it as it was put on the tiktok page of one bullying account. im not sure what grade other people have come across this but this one is real. though the girl suspected of the bullying is a traditional bully and i think she is opening herself up to real bullying for it.

i had an incident a couple of years ago where the same girl stole my daughters phone and started messing around on it. then i located it, showed up at her house and she smashed it to pieces. that was interesting.

Its a totally different world now with social media. Bullying is in all aspects of our lives and it needs be handled at all levels.

If I had kids as difficult as it is I wouldnt let them have any forms of social media until highschool. Id also teach kids why bullies bully such as their own insecurity, home problems so kids dont take it out on themselves.

As adults and a country we have our own problems. The mainstream media doesnt cover real news but an agenda news and will lie and manufacture news to create a narrative. Twitter is a cesspool of group think and bullying.

For children adults need to monitor their activities and keep them away from the social media. Adults need to be aware of mainstream media/left wing agenda to bully and shame this country into socialism. As an adult and business owner as much as social media can help a business it might take a step and revevaluate and gake your business off negative platforms like twitter

one of my wife's reactions is to have my daughter close her tiktok account. that doesnt bother her since she doesnt really use it. she presently doesnt use any social media even though we dont prevent her from doing so.

i dont really like that reaction. someone "bullies" you or drags you into bullying and now you lose things? i prefer to explain to her how to handle it and how to not let other people's actions bother her. to me, forcing her to close her tiktok account is like letting the terrorists win. but that isnt really an issue of contention because she doesnt use it and doesnt care.

Well that’s just the thing. You can very easily just delete the app if you find yourself too emotionally invested in what others have to say on social media. You can have a perfectly healthy social life without social media.

i appreciate that people online get emotionally invested in what others have to say, i count on it. but i think that is a big flaw to let random people online impact your mood. i am on several social media platforms but im just looking at family and friend pictures. im sure kids use it like that and also for more things. the key is to not let other people bother you and you can just get what you want out of things and not get the bad stuff.
