I am going to be moving back to the Edison area in the spring and was curious about how bad the job market is as far as hourly employees go? I would like to go back to school once I get there but also need a job to "pay the bills" like at a restaurant etc... any info would be great....
The job market in New Jersey is worse than the job market in Texas.
NJ 8.8% of the labor force - Not seasonally adjusted - Oct 2010
Texas 7.9% of the labor force - Not seasonally adjusted - Oct 2010 Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
The area I am in in Tx is at 10.4 on unemployment so NJ is actually a little better than this area of Texas. Joe, I have been trying to find a waitressing job here since May. I have excellent references, a great job history and still can't find anything. Thanks for the answers all!!
i don't know about Texas... and I actually don't know about Edison either, but I know here (Bergen county) you could work at any number of pizza places that have a high turnover.
