[UPDATE] NJ Mom Sues Century 21 for Millions Over 80 Cents: Gothamist

"Gerson's father, Harry Katz, has made a career out of suing retailers for exactly this sort of thing. He's previously sued Dick's Sporting Goods, Casual Male and The Children's Place over alleged coupon "schemes."

I used to work retail, and it was annoying as hell explaining to customers why they couldn't get the item's stock value when making a return after they used a coupon. The biggest scam customers used to pull was making returns without receipts after using coupons. Management always gave in and it kinda screwed the workers over because it revenue/profit margins which in turn affected how much help a store could hire. There were also the scam where customers would come in with a receipt for something they bought, go grab the same item of the shelf and "return" it, but that was easier to catch.
