Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- The New York Senate approved Governor Andrew Cuomo's plan to overhaul the state tax code by raising rates on the wealthiest residents and cutting them for millions of married couples earning less than $300,000 a year.
The Senate, where Republicans have a one-vote edge, passed the measure 55-0 in a special session. It now moves to the Assembly. The deal was announced yesterday in a joint statement by Cuomo, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority

"New York has left the middle class with an undue burden which also hinders economic recovery," Cuomo said in a Dec. 5 statement. "Fairness dictates that the more you make, the more you pay and the higher your income, the higher your rate."

From each, according to his ability, to each, according to his need. It is refreshing when a left-winger is this honest. They usually know better.

Every republican in the NY senate voted for this NOT ONE voted no. I guess they are all left wingers. They apparently AGREE the wealthy should PAY MORE for their fair share. Lets see if Christie and the whackos in Congress see the light.
