Looking to relocate to either Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach or Bay Head. Some realtors promote being close to the train, but for those of you who live there, doesn't that come with alot of noise?
While visiting one day, I noticed the train whistle going into the station at Point Pleasant, and wondered how late into the night that goes on. For the high home prices there, I'd hate to buy and have to hear that every hour.
Most people who live near train lines will tell you that you'll hardly even notice it. We live a few blocks from the Bergen County Line with grade crossings at a station all right by. Only time I notice the train's horn is when I'm sitting outside on the steps. And even then, commuter trains are short and light, so it won't have the same rumbling of a 3 locomotive 100+ car freight train barreling through at 60 mph.
