I've been looking for a home in Old Bridge and came across a really nice home in Cliffwood. I've heard Cliffwood Beach is a bad area, but haven't found much on Cliffwood. Any opinions?

Like every town there are good and bad areas, but Clifford Beach has come a long way over the years.
It's part of Old Bridge and your kids if any would attend the Old Bridge school system.
depends what side is it old bridge side or aberdeen side? been told that drugs and violence getting very bad there. i used to live on the aberdeen side years ago,my husband grew up there and i liked it and always wanted to buy a there but over the years the drugs and violence are being pushed further into cliffwood beach and yes i know every town has drugs but homes are being broken into on a daily basis,a taxi driver was murdered not too long ago,so its iffy.
Thanks for the responses. It's odd that I've seen the address of the home listed as being in Cliffwood, Aberdeen Township, or Old Bridge. It appears to be nestled between the GSP and the train tracks. I'm hoping being on the other side of the tracks might separate the area a bit from Cliffwood Beach. My wife and I are expecting a child, so schools are a consideration, although we won't have to be too concerned for a few years. We really like Metuchen/Colonia, but just can't seem to get enough for our money, so we've expanded our search to Old Bridge, Hazlet, Matawan, Aberdeen. Any other recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
do you know the street name? that can tell me alot.. I live in aberdeen(i have a matawan zip code) near the high school my oldest daughter graduated matawan went all through the school system since pre school as well as my youngest who is now in 10th at matawan high,i have nothing but good things to say about the school system, except they do spend alot of money on the football team, but i guess thats a given anywhere,Hey we are champs!!! anyway matawan is good but the area behind the post office near the libarary is a little iffy.. but not too bad. matawan is a nice area. some really good home prices, use zillow
yea i know the area, not bad. they have built it up in that area and homeowners have improved their homes, it used to be very run down years ago. but the side of cliffwood you are looking at is better than the other side across rt 35 towards water. glad i can help.
just stay away from keansburg, union beach(prone to flooding)
hazlet ok.schools system is huge the same with middletown a little pricey, and of course holmdel is really nice but expensive.
Cliffwood and Cliffwood Beach are two different places though they are adjacent to each other. Cliffwood is part of Aberdeen and Cliffwood Beach is part of Old Bridge, as is Laurence Harbor. If you look at a map you will see where the municipal line is drawn, as the neighborhood is inland in Aberdeen and then crosses over the border into Old Bridge on the Raritan Bay shore.
The Raritan Bay shore is known for its "white trash" elements (think Keansburg, Union Beach etc) and these neighborhoods, while not in your face horrible, are pretty much the last places in either town that I would want to live. Aberdeen and Old Bridge as whole, are fine if not wonderful places to live.
Biondi street is both in cliffwood and old bridge, kindly tell me how good or bad the area is.
