Just ckecking to see what the situation in East Brunswick is at this time. Are the gas stations open? Do they have gas? Are there long lines? Are grocers currently open and stocked? What about restaurants/fast food?
Also, what is the traffic situation like traveling from this area up to Morristown or down to Long Branch during the morning between 8-9 and in the evenings around 4?
East Brunswick is getting back on their feet pretty well compared to many other areas. The first major blast of power returns were on Thursday and I hear that as of yesterday about 90% are back up and running. The hardest hit with power outages were the Old Stage Road / Fern Road / Dunhams Corner Road / Riva Avenue areas.
As for what is opened; most of the restaurants and gas stations have returned to normal business as of today. The gas lines are not even close to what they were before and have actually returned to normal. Food stores seem to be okay as well. Still a little bare but nothing compared to last week.
Traffic has also returned to normal. Most of the traffic was coming from waiting in gas lines that blocked many of the major roads (ie Route 18).
Let me know if you have any other questions. Best of luck!!
EB is where I got gas on Saturday and ONLY at that time waited 45 minutes so it wasn't bad at all.
